September 22

We had a very peaceful day as we discussed and celebrated World Peace Day.  We started our morning  with some inspiring videos about Peace and a great book called The Promise. Students spent time today reflecting and writing about what Peace means to them and what they will do this year to make a change or difference.  We completed our Peace celebration with an assembly outside with the whole school holding up their peace pinwheels.

We had 3 math problems today that we worked on with partners.  One of the problems was finding the pattern to figure out how many sit-ups Mrs. Cooper would have to do on Saturday if Monday she did 20, Tuesday 30, Wednesday 50 and Thursday 90.  It's a lot of sit-ups!!

We accomplished 10 minutes of Write to Self this afternoon and then finished our day with Read to Self.  We are very proud of our students for how well they are building stamina in our Daily 5 activities.

Just a reminder that Wednesday is the Terry Fox run and hot dog lunch.  If your child did not order a hot dog please send a lunch for them to enjoy for our  outdoor picnic.  We will be doing the Terry Fox run to the windmill at 2pm after the hotdogs have time to settle!  Families are welcome to join us for the run.

Have a wonderful evening and enjoy the beautiful weather:)
