Tuesday Sept. 2nd, 2014 FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL

It was very exciting to meet our students today in both of our classes. Students participated in a variety of get to know you activities and discussions. We read the following two picture books to get us collaborating around rules and routines and treating others respectfully as well as to retell our exciting adventures from our summer!

Students were given a 'home communication folder' at the end of the day. This folder will come home each day. It will contain school communication and forms that need attention as well as classroom notes and work. Sometimes it might come home empty! This is so that you have access to Mrs. Cooper's or Ms. Rauser's email address at all times, your child has access to username and passwords for Mathletics and RAZ-Kids (these will be taped in hopefully by next week), and allow you to safely store your child's home reading in the envelope pocket (this too will start up in the next couple of weeks). 

Each day students will travel back and forth from Ms. Rauser's class and Mrs. Cooper's class as lessons and activities are often taught together. This team teaching will happen throughout the year giving your child the opportunity to have not one but TWO teachers.

Please check the BLOG daily as we update it with important information. This is our main avenue of communication with parents and guardians.

We will also be updating our website for both rooms (combined) often throughout the year. This is another great place to check out what your child has been doing in class and at school. There are already many helpful links to websites for your child to explore and use at home! Its a good idea to bookmark both the BLOG web address and the below webpage address on your home computer to make it easy to access! :0)
