Students learned about changing their voices when reading according to specific punctuation that is present throughout a book.
" " Talking Marks --> You need to change your voice according to how the character is feeling, what they are doing, etc.
. Periods --> You need to pause and take a breath before beginning the next sentence
? Question Marks --> Your voice goes up in tone at the end of the sentence when you ask a question
, Commas --> You need to take a breath as you are reading when you see a comma
! Exclamation Marks --> Your voice needs to sound excited as you read it a sentence ending with an exclamation mark. Your making a statement of sorts and it needs to sound like one.
Today both classes participated in Choir with Ms. Jackson and Mrs. Jones.
