Friday October 10, 2014

Even though it was only a half day, the students accomplished a lot.  We are working towards completing the SLA's with our grade 3 students.  The grade 4's were focused and during their daily 5 read-to-self, read-to-a-buddy, and personal writing period. After snack we started the written SLA and decided to have the grade 4 students join for this part as it will be a piece of writing assessment that we can use in addition to their daily work. We will continue the written assessment on Tuesday.

The students met briefly today to share their findings on their 'difference maker' that they are looking at in their small groups. They successfully recorded this information as a group on their sheets and problem solved how to improve sentences and the overall structure of their paragraphs so that it made sense.

Please check out Mrs. Jackson's blog to practice the lyrics for the song "WE ARE THE WORLD".  We are singing this song at the assembly on Friday, October 17 at 9 am.

  1. Yesterday, Yaelle told me that Anne Frank died when she was 15 years old because she went to a camp that the took a lll the 15 year old's and killed them. Some were released, but she was already dead when they let that happen. Just to give people who are doing Anne Frank a little heads up Ms. Rauser
